The warm weather may be coming to an end, but there are still plenty of festivals and events taking place in Beverley this autumn! Take a look at our top picks...

East Yorkshire Open Studios, multiple locations, 28th & 29th September.

This is one for local art lovers! Discover talented artists and craftspeople right on your doorstep during this annual showcase of visual arts across East Yorkshire. Many of the venues taking part in the festival aren’t usually open to the public, so it’s a great opportunity to see real working studios in action. A wide range of media will be on display including embroidery, prints, jewellery, ceramics, photography and painting, many of which will be available to purchase, too.

Chamber Music Festival, St Mary’s Church, Toll Gavel United Church and Beverley Minster, Wednesday 25th - Saturday 28th September.

A team of exceptional artists have been assembled to present eight concerts in and around St Mary’s Church in Beverley. Run by New Paths Music, the festival will feature world class music, two talks, a world premiere and a pizza supper, as well as performances from the East Riding Youth Orchestra.

2019 World Barge Pulling Championships, Beverley Beck, Sunday 29th September.

Barge pullers from around the world will gather at Beverley Beck to see who can pull the Syntan barge 200 metres in the fastest time. This is the highest honour in barge pulling and promises to be a fun event for the whole family!

Beverley Beer and Cider Festival, St Mary’s Church, Beverley, 4th & 5th October.

Beer and cider connoisseurs rejoice - this fantastic festival is back and better than ever! Visitors will be able to sample over 70 of the country’s finest real ales, craft beers, ciders and gins. With a beautiful location, live music and plenty of delicious food to choose from, this popular festival is not to be missed!  

Beverley Food Festival, Market Place, Beverley, Sunday 6th October.

This award-winning festival is undoubtedly the highlight of Beverley’s autumn event calendar. Now in its 14th year, the Beverley Food Festival attracts over 120 of the region’s finest purveyors. Browse the stalls whilst sampling local preserves, meats, cheese, beer, gin and more. Take in one of the many cookery demonstrations from amazing local chefs and enjoy live entertainment from street musicians.

Festival of Words, Treasure House, Beverley, 15th-20th October.

Taking place at various libraries across the region, as well as The Treasure House in Beverley, the Festival of Words is a true celebration of all things literary. Enjoy talks from best-selling and emerging authors, competitions, children’s events and drama workshops across five fun-filled days.
