What’s on in the Yorkshire Wolds this autumn?

As the days get shorter, leaves turn golden and we dig out our cosy knits, we’re welcoming in autumn. This beautiful season has so much to offer. Here are some of the top upcoming autumn events in the Yorkshire Wolds:

Autumn Festival, Burton Agnes Hall - 19th - 20th October

Immerse yourself in the finest food, drink and craft stalls that the region has to offer, at this stunning Elizabethan stately home.

Set amongst the stalls, visitors will find Burton Agnes Hall’s courtyard shops, which offer tempting and unusual gifts, souvenirs and seasonal produce. Delicious treats await visitors in the café, where freshly prepared meals, warming drinks and soups and home baked cakes will be served throughout the weekend.

You’ll be entertained with traditional street performances too, including sword dancing and Morris dancing, and much more throughout the weekend.

After Dark, Driffield Showground - 25th - 26th October

Experience the Driffield Showground ‘after dark’ with three live-action scare mazes across two thrilling nights of live entertainment.

The weekend will also feature a funfair, roaming characters, street food, live music, pumpkin carving and street entertainment in the form of stilt walkers and fire breathers. Thrill seekers looking for something a little more ‘hands on’ will be able to get up close and personal with all manner of reptiles, snakes and other creepy crawlies in the interactive ‘Reptile House’.

If you're still shaking after surviving all of this, then it’s time to pull up a chair and relax in the ‘Devil’s Nest’ with live entertainment and a strong drink to steady your nerves!

Musical Fireworks Spectacular, Sledmere House - 26th October

Who doesn’t love fireworks?

This year’s annual Sledmere Musical Fireworks is going to be bigger and better than ever, and will be opening earlier than usual (4pm) to give you more time to experience everything that the event has to offer.

Live it up at the funfair, grab some grub and enjoy entertainment throughout the evening, culminating in our Musical Fireworks Spectacular at 7.30pm.
